Horizontal Axis is Water Flow in kg/s (0.2-1.1) Vertical Axis is Brake in Js (3-20)

200x200 combinations of water flow and brake (40'000 pixels) were calculated with random initial conditions of all 14 variables (12 bucket contents , angular velocity, position). The colour code shows the state of the waterwheel after 11 hours: red = stationary movement (constant angular velocity orange = "rolling" movement (periodically varying angular velocity without changing direction) yellow = pendulum (symmetric and nearly periodic movements in both directions) black = chaos (non periodic movements)
